CCDS loci in Vega human and mouse
The conserved CDS (CCDS) project is a collaborative effort between the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (WTSI), and the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC). The aim of the project is to identify a core set of human and mouse protein coding regions that are consistently annotated between the different institutes. More information on the project is available on this Ensembl page, and from the CCDS project page at NCBI.
Vega has CCDS identifiers assigned to translations where appropriate. Transcripts that have CCDS identifiers attached are highlighted in light blue on Location based views. The actual CCDS identifiers are accesible on Gene Summary, Gene External References, and Transcript Summary Pages.
